Sr. Software Engineer - Business Intelligence
PlaySpan is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to develop its next generation virtual commerce analytics product. You will have the unique opportunity to lead and participate in the end-2-end design and development of a challenging but interesting analytics product line that will combine data warehousing, business intelligence, analytical algorithms and web 2.0 front end technologies for the virtual economy.
Your responsibility:
- Design, implement, test and support large scale analytics platform for PlaySpan's monetization solutions for virtual goods
- Develop reliable ETL processes from multiple data sources and maintain a data warehouse for internal and external reporting
- Implement Web 2.0 style reports/analytics applications that interfaces with the backend infrastructure to provide analytics and business intelligence
- Integrate third party services and open source tools to deliver industry standard solutions
- Analyze business requirements & problems and design technical solutions to make a visible impact on the business
Your Qualification:
- BS/MSCS or equivalent with about 5 years of experiences developing business intelligence applications on Unix/Linux environment
- Strong Java programming skills
- Demonstrable in-depth experience in Database systems like mysql/Oracle and OLAP technologies
- Experiences with reports/analytics products such as Pentaho and JASPER etc.
- Strong passion in developing and debugging commercial grade software
- Team player with strong communication and written skills
- Experience in statistical/analytical algorithms is a big plus
- Experience in developing AJAX-based web apps is a big plus
- Experience in implementing consumer facing e-commerce system is a big plus
